Why Use Electric Fence Wire?
Electric fence wire is a lighter material able to carry electric current around your entire fence system. Perfect electric fencing for pigs, goats and other animals. When the contained animal touches the wire, it completes the electrical circuit and therefore receives a short, harmless electric shock and backs away. The animal then learns not to touch the wire again allowing you to contain them safely within the fence system. Most animals will receive a shock within a week of the fence being erected from then on they will avoid it seeing the fence as a physical and a psychological boundary.
The Benefits of Electric Fence Wire
Using fence wire has a number of benefits over other electricity conducting materials.
Conductivity
Firstly, metal wire surpasses all other alternatives when it comes to conductivity which means wire is the preferred choice if you have an unusually large or long fencing system to charge.
Strength
Wire is also extremely durable and is especially good at keeping larger animals contained as wire can withstand greater tension which makes it particularly suitable if you need electric fencing for pigs, cattle or even horses.
Affordability
Wire is much more affordable than traditional wire and post fences or due to the taught nature of their systems, they require fewer posts to support the longer strands of wire which reduces the cost of installing the system significantly they are also far safer for the animals being contained. After one shock, few animals will return to the wire, whereas a single encounter with a barbed fence can have terrible consequences for the animal involved.
Easy to Install
Fence wire is much easier and less labour intensive to install compared to traditional fencing systems which can involve long days of digging and assembly. Our fence wire and unique fence posts are lightweight, portable and easily transported to anywhere they are needed.
